From 27–29 October 2025, the Communications Regulators' Association of Southern Africa (CRASA) convened the 2nd Meeting of the Postal Committee (PC) for the 2025/26 financial year in Windhoek, Namibia. The event was graciously hosted by the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN), bringing together postal sector representatives from Angola, Botswana, DRC, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The meeting was officially opened by Ms. Ronel Le Grange, Technical Adviser to the CEO of CRAN, who delivered welcome remarks on behalf of the host authority.
Preceding the Committee meeting was a Validation Workshop for the SADC Regional Postal Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Regulatory Framework, developed by consultant Mr. Bradley Partridge under the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Japan Fund. The Framework, the first of its kind in the region, provides regulatory guidance to enhance the postal sector's resilience, preparedness, and continuity in the face of disasters and operational disruptions.
